What is Group Supervision Like?
Group supervision is an interactive and supportive environment where you can learn, grow, and refine your clinical skills. It offers an opportunity to connect with peers and receive valuable feedback from both your fellow group members and the supervisor.
Key Elements of Group Supervision:
Case Presentations and Ethical Dilemmas:
Group members typically present real cases or ethical dilemmas they encounter in their work. This allows you to get feedback from others and learn different perspectives on how to approach challenging situations.Learning and Skill Development:
During group supervision, you'll focus on essential skills such as:Understanding the DSM-V and diagnosing criteria
Clinical documentation best practices
Interviewing techniques with clients
Exploring different therapeutic modalities (such as CBT, DBT, etc.)
Gaining knowledge about medications relevant to mental health and substance abuse treatment
Developing critical thinking skills to prepare for the LCSW exam
LCSW Exam Prep:
At the end of each group session, there will be time dedicated to test prep. Elaine's goal is not only to help you become the best social worker you can be but also to ensure you PASS the LCSW exam at the end of your supervision journey.Small Group Size:
To ensure personalized attention and quality interaction, each group consists of only 2-6 members. This size fosters a more intimate, focused environment where you can ask questions, share experiences, and receive meaningful feedback.
Group supervision is a dynamic and enriching experience that will equip you with the tools, skills, and knowledge you need to succeed in your career and pass the LCSW exam.
Congratulations on taking the next step in your social work career!
